The following unit, Unit 4-Middle Ages I: Medieval Europe, will focus on the time period from approximately 476 A.D.-1300 A.D. Topics included in this unit: impact of the fall of the Roman Empire, the development of feudalism and chivalry, the concept of the medieval knight, medieval society and culture, Dante's Inferno, the power and abuses of the Roman Catholic Church, the rise of the Barbaric Kingdoms, the Battle of Tours, Charlemagne, the Holy Roman Empire, Medieval France, and Medieval England.
